DESCRIPTION:ASIST is a two-day\, evidence-based workshop that equips participants with practical skills to recognise when someone may be at risk of suicide\, respond with confidence\, and provide safe\, effective support. It is a highly regarded training that is normally delivered at a cost\, please see the flyer attached for more information. \n\n\n\nMind-Ed is able to provide two free spaces to our members\, supporters or interested community members. The ASK Workshop is completed across two days plus reading completed prior to the live workshop. \n\n\n\nThe ASK Workshop online challenges commonly held notions about children’s capacity to consider suicide. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe next workshop is taking place Thursday 20 & Friday 21 August 2026\n\n\n\n\n\nParticipants learn: \n\n\n\n\nHow to talk about death with children\n\n\n\nHow to talk about suicide with children\n\n\n\nDevelopmentally appropriate strategies and tools to identify young children at risk of suicide\n\n\n\nHow to quickly gather and organise details needed to assess risk\n\n\n\nHow to explore and consider protective factors to inform safety planning\n\n\n\nTo consider common challenges when working with parents and possible solutions\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nImportant Course Information: \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nPre-Workshop reading is required to be completed prior to the workshop to be permitted access to the live stream\n\n\n\nYour live stream link and pre-reading will be emailed to you in the days prior to the training\n\n\n\nThe live stream will go from 8:30am to approximately 1:30pm both days \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nCourse Structure \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nParticipants learn using case studies\, guided simulations\, discussion and practice using an assessment tool. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nFollowing the course \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nParticipants will have an increased understanding and alertness to the fact that children can be at risk of suicide. DESCRIPTION:Community Pantry Food bags\n\n\n\nFriday is Pantry Day\n\n\n\nEach Friday between 10:30am and 12pm we welcome members of the community to access a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables\, dry good staples\, dairy and frozen meat.We are open for donations between 9am – 11am on Thursdays\, and 9am – 10:30am on Fridays.  \n\n\n\nWe especially welcome excess home grown produce!All are welcome and we have a suggested weekly donation of $10.  \n\n\n\nOur motto is “Give what you can\, receive what you need”.
