SUMMARY:Share your story
DESCRIPTION:Being Herd is a free workshop for young people aged 18-30 that helps you shape difficult experiences into an empowering story. \n\n\n\nWorkshops are delivered either online or face-to-face\, and comprise of a small group of people as well as some of the batyr crew to facilitate the content and conversation! \n\n\n\nCompleting the Being Herd workshop is the first step to becoming a paid Lived Experience Storyteller at batyr. However\, we warmly welcome anyone that has a story to share. \n\n\n\nBeing Herd is focused on ensuring that everyone who attends builds confidence in sharing their story\, and recognises the importance of their narrative. We achieve all of this through a combination of practical and research-based safe storytelling training\, as well as group-based discussion and sharing. \n\n\n\nWhy should I come along to a workshop?\n\n\n\nThere are so many reasons to attend a Being Herd workshop – and we would likely take up an entire page trying to list them all – so let’s just start with a few of the big ones! \n\n\n\nBuild confidence to share your story \n\n\n\nWhether sharing your story is something you’re used to doing\, or this is the very first time\, coming along to a workshop is a great way to increase your confidence in sharing that story – whether that’s to yourself\, in front of family and friends or a high-school year group. Workshops are delivered with safety and support top of mind from start to finish\, so you can expect to comfortably be who you are emotionally\, mentally and spiritually. \n\n\n\nCreate a safe & empowering structure for your story \n\n\n\nThe story structure we take you through can be a really powerful tool to outline and communicate your journey. If you’ve never popped pen to paper – or hands to keyboard – to write your story\, the structure we look at can help to overcome that initial “Where do I even start?” feeling! Every story is\, of course\, incredibly unique\, and so the structure used ensures your personal voice and journey is at the forefront every step of the way. \n\n\n\nLearn from others & feeling connected \n\n\n\nBeing Herd is a wonderful way to connect with other young people who have experienced journeys similar – or wildly different – from your own. Whether you pick up some cool self-care tips or share in some conversations about a similar interest\, there is a huge element of connection at the workshop. Both days of the workshop also provide the opportunity to share and listen to other’s lived experience stories. \n\n\n\n\n\nBeing Herd Sign Up – Put in an Expression of Interest to attend today!
