The Shire of Augusta Margaret River is committed to looking after our growing community, managing our built environment and caring for our natural environment. As part of this commitment, every few years we check in with community members about what is most important for your health and wellbeing.
Under the Public Health Act 2016, each Western Australian Local Government is required to prepare a local public health plan, and the Shire’s is ready for renewal. The renewed plan will be framed as a Community Health and Wellbeing Strategy, recognising that health is shaped by where people live, work and connect. Alongside core public health responsibilities, the Strategy will focus on practical strategies that strengthen health and wellbeing outcomes. This may include focus areas such as strengthening community connection and inclusion, supporting environments and opportunities for healthy lifestyles, and improving access to information and services that help people live well.
